Dream Riders

Description

Acrylic on Canvas, 36″ x 48″

There is a current that runs beneath ordinary sleep, the slow drifting rhythm of the theta wave, and on certain nights we learn to ride it instead of simply being carried under by it. This is the territory of true dreaming, vivid and image-rich, where the conscious mind steps back just far enough to let something older and wiser come through. The Alchemists understood the dream state not as escape but as transmission, a place where the work continues even after the body has gone still. For those who struggle to find peaceful sleep, this piece is less about chasing rest and more about softening the relationship to that threshold itself, trusting that the current is still there even when the crossing feels difficult. You don’t have to chase it or force it open. You only have to trust the wave enough to climb on. Jaye painted that trust, the moment of surrender right before the dream takes you somewhere only it knows how to go.

The Contemplation: Sit with the piece before sleep tonight and set an intention to remember what comes through, even if rest itself has felt hard to find lately. Notice in the morning whether something arrived that you didn’t have to think your way to.
