Hope
Description
Acrylic on Canvas, 30″ x 24″
There is a vastness on either side, dark and uncertain, and right in the middle, small but unmistakable, a light. This piece holds what it feels like to be little inside something enormous, divided, uncertain, surrounded by far more than you can fully see or understand, and still choosing to keep going anyway. The light doesn’t make the bigness disappear. It simply gives you something to walk toward, proof that even in the middle of all that division and dark, something is clearing. This is what hope actually looks like up close, not the absence of fear but the willingness to keep moving despite it, trusting the small light in front of you even when you can’t see the whole way through. Jaye painted that exact moment, the one where smallness meets courage and decides to keep going.
The Contemplation: Sit with the piece and find the place in your life where the light feels small but present. Notice what it might mean to walk toward it anyway, even without seeing the whole path.
